UL Comes Alive with Campus Experience welcoming freshers

The University of Limpopo (UL) kicked off the year in spectacular fashion, welcoming first-year and returning students with a high-energy Campus Experience that had the campus buzzing with excitement. From sports and recreation to student politics, entrepreneurship, the vibrant Colour Rush, and a buzzing Social Market, the event gave students a true taste of UL student life.

With first-years having had a virtual orientation, the event was designed to bring them into the heart of campus life. “This experience helps students connect with student structures, support services, and most importantly, with each other,” said the Director of Student Life, Governance and Development, Melusi Nxumalo.

One of the day’s biggest highlights was the star-studded appearance of two UL alumni who have made it big in the entertainment industry. Clement Maosa, widely known as Kwaito Seakamela from Skeem Saam, and Mulisa Mudau, who plays Elelwani on Muvhango, took the stage to entertain and inspire students. Both former UL students—Maosa having studied law and Mudau having pursued information studies—shared words of motivation, proving that UL is a launchpad for success in multiple fields.

As the sun set, the energy amped up with the ultimate Welcome Bash, not just for first-years but for all students ready to embrace the new year. The night was nothing short of electric, with jaw-dropping performances, including a standout set from Cyan Boujee, who had the crowd on their feet with her infectious disc jokey skills.
