Makhadzi, or Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, has gone above and beyond to help students at the University of Limpopo (UL) who are struggling to afford their registration fees for the 2025 academic year. In her latest gesture of kindness, six students were selected to receive financial support to cover their registration costs, marking the first phase of her initiative.
The Ma Arab hitmaker took to social media in January to announce her plan, encouraging students in need to apply by submitting proof of acceptance to the university and a short motivation explaining their financial struggles. The response was overwhelming – over 5,000 applications came pouring in within just 24 hours.

In a conversation with UL’s student affairs management at the University, the Ha-Mashamba-born artist shared her surprise at the flood of applications. “I didn’t expect this much response,” she said. “Although I didn’t continue my studies, I know not everyone will become an artist like me. But I’m here to support their education dreams. They might not have my talent, but they have the same hope of building a better future through education.”
This initiative means a great deal to Makhadzi, who has witnessed the financial hardships many students face. “I’ve seen how tough it is for students after they pass matric, especially when they can’t get the financial aid they need for registration. Education is such a powerful tool for change, and I know these students have so much potential,” she explained.
Makhadzi’s support goes beyond just covering costs – it’s about empowering students to overcome obstacles and create a brighter future. For her, helping others achieve their dreams is one of the most meaningful ways to give back.
