Thato Manthata’s journey in Computer Science is deeply rooted in his love for technology and problem-solving. A final-year student at the University of Limpopo, Thato explains, “I’ve always been passionate about solving complex problems through technology. For me, Computer Science is the perfect way to turn that passion into a meaningful career.”
Originally from the town of Lebowakgomo, Manthata’s enthusiasm for technology developed early, and it has driven him to pursue opportunities that would broaden his understanding and strengthen his skills. Reflecting on what inspires him, he shares, “My motivation to participate in this program comes from my deep interest in technology and its potential to transform industries and communities.”
Thato sees Computer Science as more than just a career path; he views it as a tool for societal improvement. “I believe that technology is one of the most powerful tools for change,” he asserts. His ambition is to make a positive impact by developing solutions that address real-world challenges, whether it’s improving access to education or creating software that makes life simpler for people. “My goal is to use technology to benefit society in a meaningful way,” he adds.
Eager to learn through collaboration, Manthata is excited about the prospect of working alongside others in his field, gaining hands-on experience, and learning from diverse perspectives. “I hope to expand my knowledge, enhance my problem-solving abilities, and see how my skills apply in real-world settings,” he says with a hint of anticipation.
With a clear vision for the future, Manthata’s message is straightforward yet powerful: “We all have the power to create positive change, no matter how small our actions may seem.” His hope is to inspire others to work together, support one another, and embrace diversity. “By building a more inclusive and equitable society, everyone can have the opportunity to thrive.” he concludes.
