Meet Thobejane Mercia Lethabo, a 20-year-old hip-hop sensation from Tzaneen, Ga-Sekororo, who is quickly making a name for herself in the music industry.
Her musical journey began in 2021 with the release of her debut single, Genesis, produced by King Ric. “Genesis was more than just a song title—it marked the beginning of my journey in the music industry,” Lethabo shares. “As my first solo recording, it was a big step forward from my earlier feature appearances, and I’m proud of that leap.”

Lethabo’s passion for music was born from tragedy. “My father passed away in 2015. While I was still grieving, my brother brought home a USB filled with hip-hop songs. I started listening, singing along, and realized I had a voice,” she recalls. “The encouragement I received from my classmates during arts class gave me the confidence to pursue music.”
In 2022, at just 18 years old, Lethabo released her first album, Tshadi, which aimed to inspire and motivate young people. Now, at 20, she’s already released an EP, He Is Able, in mid-September 2023, consisting of three tracks. The EP’s title reflects her faith in God’s ability to answer prayers. Signed under the 247 LTT Production label since 2021, Lethabo is currently working on another EP, which her fans eagerly await, expected by the end of 2024.
To aspiring artists, Lethabo offers words of encouragement: “Be patient, work on yourself, keep a clean profile, and believe in your ability to succeed.”
