In a dazzling display of poise, confidence, and charm, the University of Limpopo (UL) crowned its newest Mr and Miss Fresher 2025, along with Mr and Miss Personality, First Prince and Princess, and Second Prince and Princess, during a vibrant pageant held at the Pond on Saturday. The event, which serves as a celebratory welcome for first-year students, featured twenty charismatic contestants, ten males and ten females, competing in a spectacular showcase of talent, beauty, and confidence.
Hosted by the Student Representative Council (SRC) under the theme “Unleashing Excellence,” the event celebrated more than just appearance, it was a showcase of ambition, leadership, and student empowerment. Twenty contestants, ten males and ten females competed for the coveted titles in a pageant that highlighted the diverse talents and individuality of the institution’s first-year students.
The stage came alive with stunning wardrobe changes, confident walks, compelling introductions, and a crowd that matched the contestants’ energy every step of the way. The event reflected not only the students’ poise but the university’s ongoing commitment to nurturing self-expression, confidence, and excellence among its newest cohort.

The fresh faces of UL, Mr and Miss Fresher UL 2025 Lesedi Moloto- Mr Fresher 2025 and Miss Fresher 2025/Miss Personality: Kegoratile Makgato
Mr Fresher 2025
Lesedi Moloto, a 19-year-old from Pretoria, emerged as Mr Fresher 2025. He described his participation in the pageant as a personal challenge aimed at building his confidence and pushing his boundaries.
“I feel great, recognized, and encouraged to inspire others to participate in pageants,” he shared.
Lesedi’s win not only highlights his determination but sets an inspiring tone for male representation in student-led initiatives.
Miss Fresher 2025 / Miss Personality
Eighteen-year-old Kegoratile Makgata, from Seshego Zone 1, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Translations and Linguistics. Making history by winning both the Miss Fresher and Miss Personality titles, Kegoratile is a symbol of perseverance and self-belief. Initially hesitant to enter, it was the encouragement of a friend that motivated her to take the leap.
“I feel great and motivated to continue pursuing my ambitions,” she said, reflecting on the growth and confidence she gained through the process.

This year’s pageant offered more than a celebration of student life, it highlighted the importance of confidence, personal growth, and representation.
