The University of Limpopo Student Represenatative Council (SRC) has done it again! They had the campus turned into a festival ground on Friday night as students packed at the pond where students got the celebration they deserved after a long academic grind. With exams behind them (and only practicals and a few supps left for some), the night became the unofficial “we made it” moment of 2025.
Amapiano favourite Uncool MC kept the crowd on their feet from the moment he stepped on stage. “UL students have a fire that’s rare. Tonight’s energy was pure celebration,” he said. DJ Masterkid agreed, adding, “You could literally feel the relief in the air. This was the reset students needed.”

For many students, the bash came at the perfect time. Third-year student Precious Mokoena described the night as a mental break. “This was refreshing. Exams were exhausting, so this helped me relax before I go home.”
Another attendee, First-year student Tshepo Mabasa, said the event helped him release the pressure of the past weeks. “I really needed this. I’m going home tomorrow morning, and I feel lighter after tonight.”
Lerato Ndou Third-year student, who is returning home early the next day, echoed the sentiment. “This bash closed the year beautifully. I feel relieved and ready to finish my practicals when I come back.”
Whether students were leaving or sticking around, one thing was undeniable the SRC-backed bash delivered joy, community, and a much-needed exhale. As the speakers went silent and the crowd drifted off, the night reminded everyone that even in tough academic seasons, a good beat and a good crowd can bring balance.
